Live Music
In 2021-22, we started a live music program in which we held:
- Regular Jam Nights (‘Jam Factory’) at The Dairy, London Road Campus
- Regular Gigs at Bar 77, The Outlook in town
- Other live music events for all to enjoy.
Our larger performances were often held in RUSU, Whiteknights (WK) Campus and we have begun to establish connections with other performance venues to give our members even more of a chance to perform.
We will be coming to Ice House in 2022-23! Located at Wessex Hall on Whiteknights Campus, Ice House has a brand-new menu, a large selection of beers, ales and cocktails and of course a large space to listen to some live tunes.
In our live music programme, we are collaborating with music-based student societies – Reading University Music Society (RUMS), Band Society, Rock Society, Singer-Songwriter Society and K-Pop– who are keen to get their musicians/bands opportunities to play to audiences. As such, the student committee members of the societies have been working closely alongside UoR Music staff (Victoria Ely and Lucy Kelly) to deliver the events programme.
