2019: Clara Hart

We caught up with Clara to find out what winning the award meant to her:

“Since coming to Reading I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of a range of musical activities. I am delighted that my contributions have been recognised by receiving this award. I am sure I will continue to enjoy many musical opportunities throughout the rest of my time here and extend my thanks to the many people that make them happen”

The presentation of the award took place during the Community Festival performance of Jesus Christ Superstar on Saturday 9 March 2019.

2018: Charlotte Lynch

BA Primary Education with Music Specialism

In his presentation speech, the Vice-Chancellor Sir David Bell said:

‘To say she is active in music performance is quite an understatement’

‘If Ben were here tonight, he would recognise in Charlotte a kindred spirit because she is talented, reliable, friendly and always a pleasure to work with. She is a positive force in any ensemble, working always for the benefit of her peers. It is a testament to her standing that she received multiple nominations for this award. She is a worthy recipient of the Ben Pedley Award and sets the bar very high for those who will follow her.’

Charlotte was presented with her award at the Ben Pedley Memorial Concert, on Saturday 10 March 2018 by the Vice Chancellor, and members of Ben’s family.
